Ordering FAQs

  • Does Consolidated Label offer short run labels?

Yes. The minimum for short run label orders is 100 labels. Digital labels can be printed on a variety of materials and require no plates making it a cost-effective labeling solution for smaller projects. Depending on the complexity of your project, digitally printed labels are typically shipped within 3-5 business days from the time we receive your approval on label artwork (not when we received it). Please note that special order materials may add additional time to the project.

  • Does Consolidated Label offer labels on sheets or rolls?

Labels come on rolls unless you specify otherwise. We can adjust the quantity of labels per roll, just ask your customer service representative. Labels can be provided on sheets, however, tooling may be required at an additional cost to create a custom sheet size.

  • Can you design my label?

Typically, we don’t create label designs from scratch, however, we do work with a variety of graphic designers (Designer Referral List) on selected projects to design custom labels. If you have all of your label design elements (text, graphics, barcode, etc.) ready, our art department can put everything together for label printing at an additional charge. Please contact us at 1-800-475-2235 to get specific pricing on our artwork related setup charges.

  • Is white considered a printing color?

White is only a printing color when used on colored or clear materials. If you are printing your label on white stock, there is no need or charge for white ink.

  • What does 4 over 1 or 4 over 0 mean?

This refers to how many colors are printed on the face and back of a label. The first number refers to the number of colors printed on the front of the label while the second number refers to the number of colors printed on the back of the label. “4 over 0” means four colors are printed on the front of the label with no printing on the backside – which is the most common configuration. 4 over 1 would be a job that has 4 colors on the front of label and 1 color on the back.
